Ben Adams, Associate Pastor (HTLoop)
Pastor Ben is a justice seeker, a peace maker, a nature lover, a music collector, a dancer, a karaoke star, a traveler, a Michigander, a wrestling coach, a husband, a dog dad, an uncle, a brother, and a friend.
Pastor Ben actually served as a ministry in context seminarian with Holy Trinity all the way back in 2011-2012 when he was in his second year at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Little did we know at that time that only three short years later, Pastor Ben would be called to serve as an Associate Pastor here as we continue to develop and grow our second site in the Loop.
In addition to his role at Holy Trinity, Pastor Ben also serves half-time with the South Loop Campus Ministry. If you visit us for worship at HTLoop you are bound to see some of his students around, especially during the months of September through May when school is in session.
Finally, Pastor Ben is married to Tara Ford and they live in the Max Palevsky dormitories at the University of Chicago where they serve as the Resident Heads of Alper House. Tara works in the University of Chicago Career Advancement Office where she serves as the Director of UChicago Careers in STEM. Together they enjoy cooking, exercising, wine tasting, dog walking, espresso making, and dancing.
Graduated in May 2014 from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) where he received a Masters of Divinity degree with an urban ministry emphasis.
Prior to seminary he received an MBA with a concentration in Finance and a BS in Business Administration, major in Economics and Finance and a minor in East Asian Studies, both from John Carroll University in University Heights, OH.
He has also been trained in anti-racism, community organizing, and the catechumenate.
