  • Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 1218 West Addison Street Chicago, IL, 60613 United States (map)

The election of Pope Leo XIV in 2025 came as a surprise to many. More than a year later, the guiding principles and prospects of his papacy are coming into clearer focus. Catholic theologian Brian Flanagan will explore what all Christians, not only Catholics, might hope for in this papacy, based upon Pope Leo's biography, the reasons he was elected, and some of the initial decisions and statements that he has made. Led by Brian Flanagan, chair of Catholic Theology at Loyola University, and colleague of Aana Vigen.
