Holy Trinity Goes to the CrossTown Classic

  • Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 1218 West Addison Street Chicago, IL, 60613 United States (map)

Before the Chicago Cubs were founded in 1876 . . .

Before the White Sox were founded in 1894 . . .

Before the Chicago Whale built what is now Wrigley Field in 1914 . . .

Holy Trinity was there.

On beautiful days in June, Lutheran pastors in the Metro Chicago area have been know to say, "I'm going to the seminary" as they head out of the office early enough to perhaps catch a fly ball at Wrigley Field.

Why? The Lutheran Seminary in Chicago used to be located at the address that now houses Wrigley Field. Holy Trinity claims a special relationship with that address as well. The congregation where seminarians worshiped on that campus joined together with Holy Trinity before the seminary moved and we built our building at 1218 W Addison St.

We know that there are a number of baseball fans of various stripes at Holy Trinity and we expect everyone, Sox and Cubs fans alike, to behave themselves with the decorum as befits a ballfield when we go to cheer on our city's teams on Tuesday, August 15th.

  • Cost: $65 per ticket.

  • Tickets will be on a first come first served basis.
